Thank you Lancaster Covenant Church

Thank you Lancaster Covenant Church for taking such a large step of faith and joining us at Give Hope 2 Kids. Coming to a 3rd world country with a lot of instability takes a good amount of courage and faith,  and you did it to be examples of  faith and love to all of us here who will hold on to the memories and cherish them.

The team in the Grand Forks airport
The various STRUGGLES turned to accomplishments that made everlasting influences.

Landing the plane in Honduras never felt so great after flying through a tropical rainstorm

Once they arrived in San Pedro and got into a sketchy van without seats they were finally able to spend the night in a "quiet"place.... never mind the knobless air conditioner and the loud ranchero music out in the street. The next day, they climbed into another van (not so sketchy) for three hours.... and for the final two hours they got in the back of this.....

Crossing over a temporary bridge. (Don't look down Mary)
Another washout on the side of road from heavy rains. (Told you not to look down)
Once here, they faced the STRUGGLES of working in this heat.

Lots and lots of painting

More work...
making a desk for computer class
Putting together the library shelving
Of course the morning chores of milking the cows
working on widening a road and using the dirt to level the floor for the new construction with a "minor" obstacle in the way.
The "obstacle" aka Jordan's rock successfully removed
Washing clothes in the creek. Taught by one of our house moms Belkis (far right)
What exhausting days of hard work look like in the evening

Not only is working a struggle, but also the way of commuting from place to place can challenge many. In this trip we hiked, and hiked and hiked

Bringing supplies/food to our hiking adventures
Conquering the fear of heights over a swinging bridge
Conquering the fear of not being able to reach the destination
And once again... with hard work... and with great adventure/play comes a need for rest.
Sweet dreams Jake

Throughout the struggles, I thank the Lancaster team for such great attitudes throughout the entire mission. With these struggles we all saw such great Accomplishments
Landing safely "thank you God"
Beautiful paint job on the volunteer home and kids bedrooms...cleaned up the place and looks amazing
Library shelving
Office computer desks
Freeing "Jordan's Rock"
Making every Hiking destination
Overcoming fears
Experiencing and trying new things
Appreciating the advancements in the country you live in
and most importantly.........

Being a witness

creating friendships

showing your love

and developing lasting relationships.

As the week went by we noticed a group that became that much closer with each other and with the family of Give Hope 2 Kids through the tough times and the fun times.

Nolan jumping from a high rock next to a beautiful waterfall
"The girls" just hanging out during the hike
Is Mike really that tall... or is Monica really that short???
The brave crew still smiling before their leap into zip lining
At the natural hot water springs
Here we go over the tree tops...

What a roller coaster of events to show God's will and be a living example. From the ups and the downs to the struggles and the accomplishments; Lancaster church did it all with such great attitudes and always sharing their love to all of us here at Give Hope 2 Kids and the community near by.

Thank you all for making the journey in faith and for the church for supporting and allowing such an amazing group to come and help.
