The best of the best

Once a year, most people from our village of Urraco and other neighboring villages get together and bring the best of the best of their crops to honor God for His blessings. According to Exodus 34:26a  “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God..." during harvest time, anyone from farmers to those who have a small vegetable gardens bring their biggest and best crop to donate to the church. The church then makes a huge celebration with two services back to back and then sells these products to raise funds for the church. This year was our first year to attend this grand, village-wide, event. We can't thank God enough for all His blessings in our lives and in the ministry, so we wanted to make sure to be a part of the event. The ministry was able to donate a healthy amount of oranges and sugar cane as our crop contribution, and we were able to borrow chairs and tables for the set up.
The celebration was to start at 7 p.m. sharp, but we do live in Honduras, so after the pouring rain, lighting and thunder, the first service started at 8 p.m. and the event when on all night until 1 a.m.
It was a great time to not only dedicate the best of our crops to God, but also the best of us in adoration and praise to Him. In that spirit, we pray to God to remind us and convict us everyday that all our blessings come from Him. And not because we deserve it or because we have earned it, but thanks to His grace and mercy.
